I go back and forth on if I like social media or not. I am on the fence most days as to if I want to get all ties to online connections like facebook, twitter etc except email. But is that really a social media? Email I mean. I am an all in or nothing person when it comes down to it.

About a week ago I tried to take a "facebook break". It did not last 24 hours. I realized it is my social network. I do not have much outside of it. And what does that say about me? I am not sure. I do find myself having less and less friends the older I get. The common thing in all of this is myself so I cannot put any blame on others.

I do keep trying to find a theme for this but so far nothing has presented itself. Some of the ideas I have had are: music blog, specifically for my area. The thing is I do not go to shows like I did when I was younger. I do not know the scene as I used to or thought I did. Plus, there are many music blogs out there that do it so much better than I could. Another idea is a gaming blog, specifically dungeons and dragons. Again, many are out there and I feel I would be repeating what they are doing. I have a place where I update the D&D campaign I am running so no need to put there here. And no need to talk about my computer gaming either. I am borderline bored with the games I am playing at the moment and nothing out there has sparked me enough to go pick it up and give it a try. Talking about books is another option. I have been reading more the past 2 years or so than I have I guess since my college and graduate school days. I think I will list the books I have read so far this year:

The Hunger Games
The Godwulf Tapestry
Bitterblue
The God Engines
Where the Hell am I?
Return of the King
Lovingkindness
The Two Towers
The Hobbit
Dragonsong
The Fellowship of the Ring
Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe
Prince Caspian
Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair
Surprised By Joy
The Horse and His Boy
The Magician's Nephew
The Last Battle
Screwtape Letters
The Children of Hurin

three in a row

Dad will have a pacemaker put in in August. He is still in the hospital getting rehab for his hip replacement surgery. I go to see him and my Mom tomorrow

Will be a HOT one today plus humidity is returning so should be a little uncomfortable this afternoon.

Still nothing has come to me as to a theme of this blog. Anyone reading have any suggestions?

and again

Dad had hip replacement surgery yesterday. he is doing fine. he will start rehab this afternoon.

I have a tooth that hurts. Been hurting. Seems I grind my teeth at night and two of the teeth have grown to where they lock together and I have loosened at least one of them. More annoying than anything and having to eat a soft food diet is getting old. I like macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes but variety would be nice.

Week is going by so slow.

Wish I had a theme for this blog. May need to think on that

once more

oh I want to put my thoughts down but they all seem so contrived. but here they are anyway.
cannot seem to fully wake up since being on new med. or I am having caffeine withdrawal or both.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
Mondays now seem to be like any other day. Fridays as well. They all blend into one long neverendingday.
finished Bitterblue. please read it and the whole Graceling series. Really good stuff there. I hope the Kristin Cashore author continues to write about these character's stories.
Also read The Godwulf Manuscript, the first of the Spenser Detective series. A good friend lent me her copy while I was at the beach and I read half of it. And I just had to find out the rest so bought it for my Kindle and read the rest in one sitting.
I have a tooth that hurts. Dentist says I sprained it.
waiting for my LL Bean order to arrive. Think it will today.
Gatorade Cool Blue is the best flavor

no title needed

I do not remember when people started reading my blog, well those who did not know me before I started it. I started it to comment on a high school and college friend's blog and it lasted for awhile. Now, it has been on hiatus about as long as it existed. I am not sure if two posts in less than a week justifies calling off the hiatus. The word of the day is hiatus. Can you use it in a sentence?

Am reading Bitterblue
A very good read. It is the 3rd in the Graceling series. Click the link to learn more information about it.

Have not seen the Avengers. Probably will not go see the new Batman movie.

blah blah blah

you will be missed little one

My oldest cat died 2 weeks ago. I am not sure when she died as I was out of town vacationing in Savannah. My other cat, her daughter, was yelling before I was even in the house. I knew something was up.

I put out their favorite food and while Lola ate, Martha did not come out. I started to search and finally found her behind my stove. She was 18 and a half, so a good long kitty life. But I feel guilt because I was not there when she died. I know cats go off and hide when they are dieing so even if I was in town she may have waited till I was asleep or at work to go behind the stove.

I will never know for sure.

I buried in the backyard, set bricks and stones on top of her grave so animals could not dig her up. The guys that mow my yard did not move the rocks when they mowed the other day. I was happy to see that.
