suchnone #360 t-minus 16 days

Almost 2 weeks till I leave for England. Almost done packing. I have bought, long underwear, a hat, gloves. Just need a few more long sleeve shirts and extra socks and that should do it. My dentist made me a travel kit with a see through bag to keep everything in so that is ready to go. It has extra room to hold my meds and other stuff if need be. Getting a list of books to bring as well. Probably 2-3 small books just so they will not weigh me down but I do not want to have to read the InFlight Magazine for 6+ hours. Hoping for good movies but you never know.
I washed my ipod and now it does not work. I am debating whether to buy one or not for the trip. I have heard it is ok to take them on planes again but I am not 100% sure and I cannot find any info on the flight info page. If anyone knows, let me know so I can know for sure.
Almost over my cold. Feeling better than I have for over a week. Still need rest. Going to see Sally this weekend since I will not see her again before I leave.

suchnone #359 sicky

Still fighting this cold. Thought it was almost gone but came back in full force. Had to get more meds today. Hopefully be the last I will need to get. Got some of the nastiest cough drops I have ever had. Those are going in the trash, not even going to give them away they are so bad. Good they were only 99 cents.

Working this evening. Busier than I thought it would be after the holidays.

Will be off on my trip in 3 weeks. It looks like we will not be able to go to Stonehenge so you know what that means, time to start planning my next trip. Also, it gives us more time in London which is not a bad thing or we can move on to our next destination.

Visited my parents for Thanksgiving Day. Dad is doing very well. Therapist told him Friday to stop using the walker and to work on getting his natural walk/gait back. He was pretty much getting around the house without the walker, using it mostly for balance. He cannot walk up hills yet but I think he may start walking the track at the fitness center. He is talking about having the other one done at the end of January but it does depend on how strong the one he just had done is so it could be in February or March. Heard the you need to find a nice girl speech again over the holiday. I just blew it off but it bothers me somewhat.

Will miss a Christmas Party thrown by Eoh's old roommate(cannot remember what I called her) and HB her new roommate. HB also was the one who had the after dinner party for Eoh before she moved to England. Sad I will miss it, they know how to throw good parties, with excellent food, drinks and awesome conversation. Who said librarians were boring does not have a clue.

I have seen maybe 2 dozen houses with decorations already up. It is just too early for me. We used to decorate on December 22nd or so. Have not decorated in 3 or 4 years now. Just not into it.

Speaking of, "A Charlie Brown Christmas" is coming on Tuesday night at 8pm(eastern) on ABC, I think that is the right channel. Check your local listings for the time and channel near you.

suchnone #358 How's the sick?

Got a cold.
I played D&D this weekend and two of the group have kids. One with 3 under the age of 10 so I am pretty sure I got it from there. I was feeling my throat getting sore Saturday evening right before I went to bed. Now I feel completely crappy, sore throat, stuffed nose, achy. Not sure if I will make it to my parent's house for Thanksgiving or not.
D&D was fun. Good to see the guys.
Making last preparations for my trip. Just under 4 weeks when I will be there. Its funny, the stuff I have picking up now sounds like what I would pack for a camping trip. I saw where it snowed over the weekend in some parts of England. I am looking at getting some gloves and a hat. I do not wear hats usually but probably should get one just in case.
When I walked out to get to the car this morning, I saw a ball of fur next to a tree. As chilly as it gets this time of year, I decided to make sure my neighbors little gray kitty was okay so I crept over to check her out. She popped her head up and gave me a look like you looking at me? you looking at me? and then ran away.

Not much going on. Really boring times I guess you could say. I have 4 and a half weeks till my trip to England. I guess you could say I am laying low on doing much of anything until that big trip. I have done some shopping for the trip. Bought a nice fleece jacket and some good hiking/walking shoes. I had planned to increase my walking to be ready for all the walking I will do on my trip but it never happened and I doubt I will start now.

Worked last weekend and am worn out. That on top of the time change has really changed my sleep patterns. I go to bed earlier but I still wake up at 3 or 4 am. I guess I am getting more sleep but not sure. I am tired today but I think it is working the weekend and this week not the amount of sleep I am not getting.

Ate at Outback on Friday. They have good food. Had a steak and baked potato and wild rice. And for dessert, chocolate thunder from down under cake. Very good

Of course, been playing lord of the rings online.

suchnone #355

I want to make it clear I was not trying to break the rubik's cube on purpose.
It just happened that way.

Did nothing this weekend.

Well, I did watch a bunch of football, both college and professional. In professional football, best teams I see right now, in order:
Patriots
Colts
Packers
Giants
and then the rest just sort of fall below.

The time change really has messed me up. Happens every Spring and Fall. I feel like it should be later than it really is, really tired most of yesterday and today but wake up too early, even earlier than normal as my body thinks it is time to get up and I have many more hours before having to get ready for work. No fun at all. Hope I can adjust soon.

suchnone #354

Not much going on with my boring life.
  • Dad still in rehab center but making progress each day.
  • I worked last night so did nothing but buy candy and eat it for Halloween. Not like I have done much for Halloween the past 5 years or so anyway.
  • In my downtime been playing lotro, as I have been most of this year. May post pictures sometime in the future.
  • Been listening almost exclusively to new Radiohead album, In Rainbows.
  • Am right now drinking a vitamin water
  • I broke a rubik's cube the other day trying to solve it. They just are not made like they were when I was growing up.
  • thought of some new phrases that sound dirty but are not but decided not to post them.
